"At the end of 2004 we started looking for typographic workshops in Lisbon with one idea in mind: to produce a notebook that would be printed in old typography, with mobile characters, in the manner of Gutenberg.Many workshops had already closed but we found someone who was willing to help us. At the bottom of drawers eaten by the beast we found engravings and lead letters bitten and worn by time, which had been used for decades to print invoices and business cards.We composed a cover and in the first days of January 2005 the first Serrote project was born: A plain notebook, with a blue core, with the cover printed in two colors.In the following years we increased the collection of notebooks at the same time that we were receiving orders for projects of cards, notebooks and invitations. "
